Roadrunners look to continue winning ways on Wednesday night

SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA looks to carry the momentum from last weekend's DePaul Invitational Championship into this week when it hosts Texas-Pan American in a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday at the Convocation Center. The contest will be streamed live on goUTSA.com (Rowdy Zone subscription required).

The Roadrunners enter the tilt on a four-match winning streak and now own a 5-6 record on the season. Sophomore outside hitter Kendra Rowland, who was the MVP of last weekend's DePaul Invitational and the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, leads the team with an SLC-best 162 kills. The Antioch, Calif., native also ranks second on the club with 114 digs and third with 11 service aces. Freshman outside hitter Elise Huskey has a team-leading 15 aces and is second on the team with 106 winners, while freshman setter Amber Brooks has handed out a squad-best 354 assists, including an average of 48.3 the last four matches, to go along with 14 aces.

Defensively, freshman libero Kelsey Jewasko has collected a team-high 181 digs and sophomore middle hitter Valorie Rogers has blocked a total of 24 balls at the net.

Texas-Pan American stands at 3-4 on the year, but it has not played a match since Sept. 6. The Lady Broncs were scheduled to play Oklahoma and Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches last weekend, but those contests were cancelled due to Hurricane Ike. UTPA's seven matches this fall all have been played in three sets.

UTSA leads the all-time series with the Lady Broncs, 34-3, and has won 34 of the last 35 matchups. The two schools split a pair of matches last fall.
