SAN ANTONIO - UTSA continues its season-long five match road trip this weekend. The Roadrunners travel to Waco for a match up against Baylor on Sunday, Sept. 14 at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. Kick off is schedule for 5 p.m. Please note the time change.

Series Meeting: The Bears lead the all-time series, 1-0-1, againt UTSA. The last meeting between these two clubs was on Sept. 4 in San Antonio. Both team battled to a 2-all tie, before the match was called off due to weather.

Scouting Baylor: The Bears opened the 2008 season with a pair of losses  at UTEP (Aug. 22) and at New Mexico (Aug. 28). However, Baylor then even its season record to 2-2 with wins over Presbyterian on Aug. 31 and Prairie View A&M on Sept. 7. Meanwhile, Andi Fagan leads the with four goals and nine points, while Beckah Brady and Allie Moran rank second on the squad with two winners apiece.

Last outing:
Freshman forward Taylor Padia’s game-winner in the 44th minute of play lifted UTSA to a 1-0 victory at North Texas in non-conference action last Sunday. Freshman Nicoline Joergensen posted her career win and shutout in that win at UNT. She also tallied a career-best seven saves.

Runners set mark against Texas Southern:
UTSA posted a school record 32 shots in the 7-0 win over Texas Southern on Aug. 29. The Roadrunners also tied a school mark with seven goals.

UTSA places six on preseason team:
the Roadrunners landed a league-best six players on the 2008 Southland Conference Preseason Soccer Teams. Juniors Veronica Najera, Ezinne Okpo and Chelsea Zimmerman and sophomore Allison Dillon were first-team selections, while juniors Celeste Carruth and Kim Selman garnered second-team honors.

UTSA was picked second and third by the league’s SIDs and coaches, respectively, in the 2008 Southland Conference Preseason polls.
