Kickoff: UTSA begins its season-long five-match road trip this weekend as they visit No. 8 Texas on Friday, Sept. 5, and North Texas two days later.

Series Meeting: The Longhorns lead the all-time series, 1-0, against the Roadrunners, while North Texas and UTSA meet for the first time. In their last meeting, the Longhorns defeated the Birds, 6-0, on Sept. 14, 2007, in Austin.

Scouting Texas and North Texas: No. 8 Texas is coming off a pair of wins last weekend to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Longhorns collected a 3-1 victory at Kentucky on Aug. 28 and then blanked Louisville 1-0 last Sunday in Louisville, Ky. Stephanie Logterman, Kasey Moore and Amanda Lisberger led the team with two goals apiece, while Courtney Goodson and Jill Gilbeau totaled a team-best two assists apiece.

Meanwhile, North Texas opened its 2008 season with a couple of wins last weekend in Denton. The Mean Green scored a 2-1 triumph against Louisiana Tech last Friday and then shut out Xaiver 1-0 two days later. 

Last outing: UTSA suffered its second loss of the season at hands of Texas Tech, 3-0, on Aug. 31 at the UTSA Rec Sports Complex.

Runners set mark against Texas Southern:
UTSA posted a school-record 32 shots in the 7-0 win over Texas Southern on Aug. 29. The Roadrunners also tied a school mark with seven goals.

UTSA places six on preseason team:
the Roadrunners landed a league-best six players on the 2008 Southland Conference Preseason Soccer Teams. Juniors Veronica Najera, Ezinne Okpo and Chelsea Zimmerman and sophomore Allison Dillon were first-team selections, while juniors Celeste Carruth and Kim Selman garnered second-team honors.
