SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA men’s golf head coach Chris Donielson announcedMonday his resignation to pursue other career opportunities effectiveimmediately.
“It’s been so exciting to have been a part of UTSA these past eightyears,” Donielson said. “It has meant so much to my family to watch theyoung men come through the program and to be involved in their lives. Iwill cherish the memories and friendships that have been developedalong the way.”
Donielson was head coach for the past eight seasons, guiding theRoadrunners to six top-five conference finishes, including runner-upshowings in 2000, 2003 and 2006. He tutored 12 all-conference players,including 2006 Southland Conference medalist John Elizondo, fouracademic all-league performers, including 2006 SLC Student-Athlete ofthe Year Matt Johnston, and two academic all-district honorees.
A national search is underway for his replacement.
