Junior Tommy Wolfe finished 14th in the decathlon on Thursday.

DES MOINES, Iowa ? Junior Tommy Wolfe scored 3,479 second-day points during Thursday's final day of action in the decathlon and finished in 14th place (7,092) at the NCAA Championships.

Wolfe is the third UTSA decathlete in the last five years to finish among the top 14 nationally (others: Justin Youngblood, seventh in 2004/Bryan Wolfe, 11th in 2006).

The Raymondville native posted three top-10 finishes on Thursday. He tied for fourth in the pole vault (15-5/4.70m), placed sixth in the javelin (183-4/55.87m) and finished ninth in the discus (135-11/41.44m).

Meanwhile, sophomore Teddy Williams clocked a 22.91 in the 200 meters and did not advance to the semifinals. The Tyler native will wrap up the Roadrunners' 2008 outdoor campaign at 8:45 p.m. on Friday in the 100 meters final and that race will be televised live by CBS College Sports.
