In February, Mecke was UTSA's lone individual champion, as she raced to a 2:15.86 in winning the 800m gold medal at the SLC Indoor. She earned nine-and-a-half more points following a runner-up finish in the mile and as part of the Roadrunners' third-placedistance medley relay. In the fall, Mecke earned all-conference accolades with a sixth-place finishat the 2007 SLC Cross Country Championships. She also was a second-team all-academic choice in volleyball.

Jones, who owns a 3.06 gpa in pre-business, was the SLC Outdoor champion in the 100-meter hurdles this season with a personal-best and NCAA regional-qualifying time of 13.76. The Fresno native won the event at four different meets this spring, including the Texas Twilight (13.80), and met the regional standard three times. She also finished sixth in the 400m hurdles and ran on a pair of fourth-place relay teams at the conference outdoor meet. Jones placed third in the 60m hurdles at the 2008 SLC Indoor after posting a personal-best 8.75 in the preliminary heats. She also helped the distance medley relay finish third at that meet.
