UTSA to continue home stand on Tuesday night against Houston


Senior Steven Vasquez will make his 13th start of the year on Tuesday night.

SAN ANTONIO - Fresh off clinching its second consecutive Southland Conference Regular Season Championship on Sunday, UTSA plays its final regular season non-conference game of the season on Tuesday night when it welcomes Houston (30-21) to Roadrunner Field for a 6 p.m. contest.

It will be the second meeting in the last three weeks between the two teams. The Roadrunners (37-14) posted a thrilling 11-9, 12-inning triumph on April 30 at Cougar Field. UTSA has won two of the last three matchups with the Cougars, but Houston holds a 13-6 edge in the all-time series that dates back to April 1, 1992.

The Roadrunners end their current five-game home stand at 6 p.m. on Thursday night when I-35 rival Texas State comes to the Alamo City for the first of a three-game regular-season-ending series. The final two tilts will be played in San Marcos on Friday (6 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.).
