FRISCO ? Junior Laura Baker and sophomore Shelly Martinez collected honorable mention Southland Conference accolades, the league office announced on Thursday.
Baker, who finished tied for sixth at last week's SLC Championship, earned her second postseason award and first since earning second-team all-league honors in 2005. The Victoria native posted a pair of top-10 finishes and ranked second on the team with a 79.19 stroke average in 12 tournaments played this year.
Martinez, meanwhile, tied Baker with two top-10 finishes this season. The Pecos native led the team with a 79.05 stroke average and collected SLC Player of the Month accolades in November. She had her best finish of the year at the UAB Beach Blast, placing second on Nov. 6. Martinez capped of the season tied for 24th at the SLC Championship.
