SAN ANTONIO ? Ragan Blake tossed a two-hit shutout and Jetta Weinheimer went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help lead Texas State to a 4-0 victory on Saturday in game three of a Southland Conference series at Roadrunner Field.
Blake (12-8) struck out five and allowed just one walk to earn her second win of the series, while Weinheimer led an 11-hit attack for the Bobcats, who improved to 26-11 overall and 16-2.
Senior Kourtney Jones and freshman Danye Holmes collected the only two hits of the day for the Roadrunners (18-18, 13-8).
Texas State jumped on the board in the top of the first, as Weinheimer capped a two-out rally with a single up the middle to plate McKenzie Baack.
Weinheimer struck again in the third, doubling home a pair of runs as part of a three-run frame that gave Blake all the support she would need.
Senior Amanda Nikolenko (10-11) allowed four runs on six hits in two and a third innings in the loss.
UTSA hits the road for a non-conference doubleheader at nationally-ranked Houston on Wednesday, April 9.
