Sophomore Teddy Williams finished second in the 100 meters on Saturday.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. ? Sophomore Teddy Williams finished in second place in the College Men's 100 meter dash on Saturday at the Penn Relays.

Williams sped to a 10.46, his fourth race in a row with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark, and was nine one-hundredths of a second behind winner Gerald Phiri of Texas A&M. The Tyler native raced to the fifth-fastest time in Friday's preliminary heats (10.52).

Meanwhile, UTSA's 400-meter relay squad of senior Cedric Harris, Williams, freshman John Matthews and senior Steven Brown finished in fourth place with a 41.42 clocking. The quartet finished third in their prelims heat on Friday (40.82).

The Roadrunners will take next weekend off in preparation of the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships, which will take place from May 9-11 in Huntsville.
