UTSA heads to Nacogdoches for Southland Conference Tournament

SAN ANTONIO ? The No. 5 seed UTSA Roadrunners will face fourth-seeded Texas State on Friday afternoon at the Southland Conference Tournament in Nacogdoches.

The Roadrunners (9-12, 6-5 SLC) ended the regular season as winners of four of their last five matches. Junior Karen Scida has collected a team-best 14 singles wins, including nine of her last 10 matches. Sophomore Holly Phillips ranks second on the team with 11 singles victories.

UTSA will be making its second straight trip to the tournament. The Roadrunners fell to UT Arlington 4-2 in first round action last year in San Antonio.

Texas State took the regular season meeting between the two I-35 rivals, 5-2, on April 6 at the UTSA Tennis Center.
