FRISCO ? Senior Thomas Kearney and sophomore Simon Merry collected honorable mention All-Southland Conference honors, the league office announced on Thursday.
Kearney, who was third-team all-conference performer a year ago, ranked second on the team with a 75.59 stroke average in nine tournaments this season. He shot a career-low 67 in the final round of the Del Walker Intercollegiate on Oct. 26. Kearney also posted three top-20 finishes and one top-10 on the year. He concluded his career tied for eighth at the SLC Championship on April 16.
Meanwhile, Merry tallied a team-best 75.50 stroke average, while playing in 10 events this year. The Maraval, Spain, native recorded a career-low round of 67 at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational on Feb. 18 en route to posting a top five finish (t5th). Merry ended the season on a high note at the SLC Championship, as he tied for 12th place with a 76-78-68?222.
