Roadrunners wrap up season in fourth place at SLC Championship

BEAUMONT ? The UTSA women’s golf team finished a program-best fourth at the Southland Conference Championship, firing a 312-304-315?931 over the three-day event that wrapped up Wednesday at Beaumont Country Club.

Junior Laura Baker paced the Roadrunners by tying for sixth place in the individual standings, as she recorded her third straight top-10 league finish and her second top-10 finish of this season. She carded a final-round 79 to finish the tournament with a 54-hole total of 227.

Junior Allie Jordan began the day in 28th place, but rebounded on the final day with a 74 to finish in 15th. Sophomore Shelly Martinez capped off the tournament five strokes behind Jordan and finished tied for 24th. Sophomore Kayla McBride turned in a three-day tally of 239 and placed 28th, while senior Lesan Gouge, who played her last tournament as a Roadrunner, recorded a three-round total of 242.

The Roadrunners concluded arguably the most successful campaign in theprogram's three-year history with seven top-10 finishes, including fourin the top five.
