BEAUMONT ? Junior Laura Baker shot a 74 on Monday and is tied for sixth place after first-round action of the 2008 Southland Conference Championship, which is being played at the Beaumont Country Club.
The Roadrunners carded a first-round team tally of 312 and stand in seventh place. Baker trails Texas State’s Linn Gustafsson by three strokes in the individual standings.
Meanwhile, senior Lesan Gouge is tied for 19th after turning in a scorecard of 78 on the day, while junior Allie Jordan and sophomore Shelly Martinez are tied for 29th.
UTSA returns to the links on Tuesday morning for second-round action.
