LAKE CHARLES, La. ? Entering Wednesday's final round mired in ninth place, the UTSA men’s golf team rebounded with a one-under-par 287 to finish in a fourth-placetie at the 2008 Southland Conference Championship with a three-day total of 896 at the Gray Plantation Golf Course.
Sophomore Simon Merry, who began the day tied for 31st, made thebiggest individual jump on the leaderboard with a four-under-par 68 to finish in12th place with a three-round total of 222. Senior Thomas Kearney ended his Roadrunnerscareer tied for eighth after shooting a 221 for the tournament and senior Nick Olivarri ended his day tied for 14th with a three-day total of 224.
Senior Shane Costelloe and sophmore Phillip Hui finished tied for 27thand 48th, respectively.
