BEAUMONT ? The UTSA men’s tennis team collected a 6-1 win against Southern in non-conference action at Cardinals Court on Saturday.
The Roadrunners (7-11) collected the doubles point by winning the two matches that were played.
UTSA then won five of the six singles matches against the Jaguars (8-10).
Freshman Daniel Moreiras gave the Roadrunners a 2-0 lead after winning his match via default. Senior Adam Becker collected 11th win of the season with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Onx Matong at the No. 3 slot. Freshman Max Stratmann clinched the match for the Roadrunners after defeating Elvis Espinal 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Sophomore Rodrigo Morgado and junior Robin Fernandes also won their matches at the top two spots.
UTSA returns to action on Sunday at Lamar.
