SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA women's tennis team rallied for a 5-2 win against Detroit at the UTSA Tennis Center late Thursday night.
The Roadrunners (5-11) dropped all three doubles matches and trailed the Titans (7-8) 1-0 heading into singles play.
UTSA then won five of the six singles contests to rally for the three-point triumph.
The Roadrunners took a 2-1 lead after sophomore Holly Phillips and junior Eva Silvester won their matches in straight sets at the No. 4 and 6 positions, respectively. Detroit's Zeljka Minic tied it at two with her 6-1, 3-6, (12-10) win against junior Nathalie Wallin at the No. 2 slot. UTSA then reeled off three straight victories with junior Karen Scida winning at No. 1, Monika Drabkova at No. 3 and freshman Caroline Dedering at No. 5 to clinch the match.
UTSA returns to action on Saturday with a noon home against UT Arlington.
