UTSA women set for 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA women’s track & field team returns to action this week at the 81st Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, which is scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The Roadrunners took last weekend off after competing the first four weeks of the outdoor season. In its last outing at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz., UTSA notched eight top-five finishes while competing against professional athletes and collegiate teams from Air Force, Arizona, BYU, LSU and Utah State. Sophomore Dana Mecke was the top collegian in the 800 meters, clocking a personal-best 2:13.59 to place third overall, while she also posted a career-best 4:40.45 for fourth among collegians in the 1,500m. Senior Brittany Epps leaped to an 18-9 measure for third in the long jump and sophomore Jessica Jones posted a pair of career times in the hurdles, clocking a 14.16 in the 100m and 1:02.38 in the 400m.
