The UTSA women’s tennis team dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker against New MexicoStateon Saturday at the UTSATennisCenter.

The Aggies (9-4) opened the match by winning the doubles points for the early 1-0lead.

The Roadrunners (4-10) then lost three of the six singles matches. New Mexico Statetook a commanding 3-0 lead when Stephanie Eusebe and Paulina Zungia came offthe court with straight sets wins at the No. 3 and No. 6 slots, respectively.Junior Karen Scida pulled UTSA within two with her 6-4, 6-4 victory over SophiaMarks. However, Anne Fagegaltier clinched the match for the Aggies at the No. 4spot with a 6-1, 6-4 win against freshman Caroline Dedering.Also in action were junior Nathalie Wallin and sophomore Holly Phillips, whoboth won their matches.

The Roadrunners return to Southland Conference play next weekend with a pair ofmatches against Lamar on Saturday, March 29, and McNeeseStatethe following day.
