SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s tennis team fell 4-3 against UT Arlington on Friday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.

The Roadrunners (5-8, 1-2 SLC) started off the day by winning the doubles point. The Mavericks (4-8, 1-1) won at the No. 1 position, but UTSA collected the tally with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots.

The Mavericks took four of the six singles matches to clinch the one-point victory.

Hugo Taracido tied the match at one with his straight-sets win (6-1, 6-0) over junior Andre Moreira. Sophomore Rodrigo Morgado gave the Roadrunners a 2-1 lead when he cruised past Dmitry Minkin 7-6, 6-1, at the No. 2 position. The final three matches of the day went three sets, but UT Arlington won two of them to clinch the match.

The Roadrunners conclude their three-match home stand next week with a pair of non-conference matches against New Mexico State on Thursday, March 27, and Samford two days later.
