EDINBURG ? The UTSA women’s tennis team suffered a 5-2 setback at Texas-Pan
American on Sunday morning.
The Lady Broncs (12-6) took the doubles point when they won two of the three
matches at No. 1 and No. 3.
UTSA (4-9) lost four of the six single matches.
Freshman Caroline Dedering tied the match at one with her 6-2, 6-2, win against Stephanie Willerding at the No. 4 position. Junior Karen Scida gave the
Roadrunners a 2-1 lead after handing Giana Oliveira a straight set loss (6-3,
6-3) at the top spot. However, UTPA won the next four matches in a row to clinch the three-point victory.
UTSA returns to San Antonio for a six-match
home stand that starts on Saturday, March 22, against New MexicoState.
