SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA women’s tennis team returns to action this weekend with a pair of matches. The Roadrunners play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday before taking on Texas-Pan American the following day.
The Roadrunners (4-7, 2-2 SLC) split their two Southland Conference matches last week. UTSA collected a 6-1 win at Central Arkansas on March 8. The Roadrunners then dropped a 6-1 decision at Northwestern State the next day.
Juniors Karen Scida and Nathalie Wallin and sophomore Holly Phillips led the team with five singles wins apiece.
The Islanders (2-3, 1-1 SLC) went 1-1 last week. A&M-Corpus Christi fell at Northwestern State by a score of 6-1 on March 8 before collecting its first conference win of the year at Central Arkansas the following afternoon.
The Lady Broncs are 8-6 on the season, but they have dropped three of their last five matches. UTPA blanked Prairie View A&M, 7-0, before falling to Rice, 6-1, on March 8 in Houston.
