NATCHITOCHES, La. ? The UTSA women’s tennis team fell 6-1 at Northwestern State in Southland Conference action on Sunday.
The Lady Demons (9-4, 5-0 SLC) won two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles play.
Senior Karen Scida defeated Bogusia Patzer, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 1 slot, but the Roadrunners (4-7, 2-2) dropped the other five matches.
Northwestern State took a commanding 3-0 advantage when Bianca Schulz and Daniela Posada won their matches at the Nos. 4 and 5 positions. Kathrin Lange clinched the victory for the Lady Demons after she defeated Nathalie Wallin in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).
The Roadrunners continue SLC play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, March 15.
