Sophomore Rodrigo Morgado picked up a hard-fought, three-set victory on Friday.

LAFAYETTE, La. ? The UTSA men’s tennis team dropped a4-3 heartbreaker at Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday afternoon at the Cajun Courts.

The Roadrunners (2-7) took the early 1-0 lead after winning the doublespoint over the Ragin’ Cajuns (5-6).

ULL fought back to win four of the six singles matches to clinch the match.

Louisiana-Lafayette tied the match at one via a default at the No. 6 slot. TheRagin’ Cajuns then took a 3-1 lead when Piotrek Banas defeated junior RobinFernandes 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Janusz Coradi cruised past freshman MaxStratmann in straight sets (7-6, 6-3). SophomoreRodrigo Morgado pulled the Roadrunners within 3-2 when he came off the courtwith a 7-6, 3-6, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position. However, Arlen Domoney sealedthe match for Louisiana-Lafayette at No. 4. Also in action was freshman DanielMoreiras, who won a tough three-set match (2-6, 6-3, 7-5).

UTSA opens Southland Conference play this Saturday afternoon at NichollsState.
