SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s tennis team travels to Louisiana this weekend for three matches. The Roadrunners play Louisiana-Lafayette in non-league action on Friday before opening Southland Conference play at Nicholls State on Saturday afternoon and concluding their road trip at Southeastern Louisiana the following morning.
The Roadruners (2-6) are coming off a 5-2 win against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Feb. 23 at the UTSA Tennis Center. Senior Adam Becker and freshman Daniel Moreiras lead the squad with four singles wins this season.
Louisiana-Lafayette is sporting a 4-5 mark on the year andpicked up two wins last week. The Ragin’ Cajuns handed Nicholls State a 4-3loss on Feb. 26. ULL then collected its fourth win of the season with a7-0 victory against Alcorn State on March 5.
Nicholls State is 7-4 on the year and 0-1 in league play. The Colonels split a pair of matches two weeks ago, dropping their SLC opener, 5-2, against Texas-Pan American on Feb. 22 and then blanking Jackson State, 7-0, two days later in Jackson, Miss.
Southeastern Louisiana is 10-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Lions were handed a 5-2loss by South Alabama on March 5, in Mobile, Ala. SLU's twoSLC wins came against Texas-Pan American on Feb. 23 and at Lamaron Feb. 27.
