FRISCO ? All ticket types are now on sale for next week’s Southland Conference Basketball Tournament, which will be held at the Merrell Center in Katy. The event, which tips off on Wednesday, March 12, and concludes Sunday, March 16, features the top eight men’s and women’s regular season finishers competing for the league's automatic NCAA Tournament berths.
Both UTSA teams have clinched spots in the tournament and fans now can purchase tickets in the special courtside seating section by calling 210/458-UTSA (8872).
Tickets also can now be purchased at all Houston-area Ticketmaster outlets, on-line at ticketmaster.com, or by calling 713/629-3700. Tickets also will go on sale at the Merrell Center’s ticket office beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Reserved seating tickets booklets for all 14 games next week are available for $75, while reserved seats for each two-game sessions cost $18 each. Reserved seating for Saturday’s and Sunday’s championship games are available for $12. General admission tickets for two-game sessions are $15 each and general admission tickets for championship days are $10 apiece.
The Southland Conference is also offering a family ticket package for purchase in a special courtside seating section, with session and championship tickets costing $10 each when purchasing four or more.
The men’s field is set with UTSA, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, Northwestern State, McNeese State, UT Arlington and Southeastern Louisiana.
On the women’s side, UTSA, Texas State, UT Arlington and Lamar have clinched spots. Five teams -- Northwestern State, McNeese State, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi ? remain alive for the other four bracket positions.
