SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA women’s tennis team opens Southland Conference play this weekend against Nicholls State on Saturday and Southeastern Louisiana the following day at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners are coming off a pair of losses last weekend at UC Santa Barbara (5-2) and No. 69 Loyola Marymount (6-1). Sophomore Holly Phillips and junior Nathalie Wallin both lead the team with four singles wins this season.
Nicholls State improved to 5-0 on the season with a 7-0 win over at Jackson State on Feb. 24. Meanwhile, defending SLC Champion Southeastern Louisiana stands at 4-2 overall. The Lady Lions collected a pair of wins last weekend against Texas-Pan American on Feb. 23 and West Florida the following day in Hammond, La.
