SAN ANTONIO? The UTSA men’s golf team stands in seventh place after firing a team total of 590 (303-287) on the first day of the 13th annual UTSA Intercollegiate.
The Roadrunners were paced by sophomore Simon Merry, whoturned in a 73-67=140, which was good enough for fourth place after the first two rounds.Sophomore Phillip Hui shot a 78 in the first round but rebounded with a 69 inthe second for a first-day total of 147 and he is tied for 21st place. Meanwhile, EmilianoMartinez is tied for 40th after shooting a 77-73=150.
UTSA's “B” team turned in a team total of 622 (326-296) and stands in 16thplace. Senior Shane Costelloe is tied for 21st with two-round total of 147, whilesenior Philipp Krohn fired a 79-78=157 on the day and is tied for 67th.
The Roadrunners conclude play with the final round on Tuesday.
