Junior Onika Anderson posted her fifth double-double in the last six games on Saturday.

SAN ANTONIO ? Junior forward Onika Anderson posted her seventh double-double of the season and fifth in the past six games with game highs of 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead UTSA to a 82-41 victory against Nicholls State on Saturday afternoon in the Convocation Center. It was the Roadrunners' ninth win in a row.

Junior guard Monica Gibbs just missed a triple-double with 10 assists, nine points and eight rebounds for the Roadrunners (17-6, 9-1 SLC), while senior forward Amanda Foster and junior Tia Bogan added 10 and eight points, respectively.

Funaki Kefu paced the Lady Colonels (5-17, 3-8 SLC) with a team-high 10 points, while Katherine Plummer, the league's leading scorer at 18.2 points per game, was held to just eight while grabbing eight boards.

UTSA opened the second half with a 12-4 run that pushed its lead to 52-28 with 13:35 to go. A pair of free throws by Plummer cut the deficit to 22, but it would be the closet Nicholls State would get for the rest of the way. Freshman guard Jordan Stark connected on back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Roadrunners a 36-point edge (69-33) with less than six minutes to play and UTSA scored the last six points of the game for the 41-point victory.

After Tiffany Lewis gave Nicholls State an early 2-0 lead, the Roadrunners took the lead for good when Anderson exploded for 17 of the team's first 26 points. The Lady Colonels cut the Roadrunners lead down to eight (26-18) when Plummer was good on a layup at the five-minute mark, but sophomore Courtney Laing’s short jumper gave UTSA a 15-point cushion at the half (37-22).

UTSA hits the road for a key West Division showdown at UT Arlington on Thursday, Feb. 21. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at Texas Hall.
