Men's track & field returns to Houston for Saturday's Bayou City Classic

SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s track & field team heads toHouston for the fourth time this season when it participates at Saturday's Bayou City Classic. The Roadrunners will send 25athletes to Bill Yeoman Field House and they will compete in a total of13 events.

Fieldcompetition gets underway at 8 a.m. with the weight throw and running events commence at 1 p.m. with the 5,000 meters. The Roadrunners will square off against athletes fromDallas Baptist, Houston, Houston Baptist, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Northwestern State, Prairie View A&M, Rice,Southern, Southern-New Orleans, Southern Mississippi, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, UT Arlington, Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Trinity.

Sophomore Teddy Williams will run his first 60 meters race since setting the Southland Conference record (6.66) at the Houston Opener on Jan. 12. Senior Will Vese, who leads the league with his 60-meter hurdles time of 7.97 set at the Houston Opener, also will be in action. Meanwhile, senior Steven Brown, the SLC leader in the long jump (7.49m), will run his first 60 meters race of the season.
