Senior Luke Johnson won the Leonard Hilton Memorial shot put title on Friday.

HOUSTON ? Senior Luke Johnson won the shot put with a toss of 54-1 ? (16.50m) and placed third in the weight throw (school-record 55-2/16.81m) to lead the UTSA men's track & field

team to a fourth-place finish at Friday's Leonard Hilton Memorial.

Freshman P.J. McGowen also had a solid meet for the Roadrunners, as he placed second among collegians in the high jump. McGowen cleared 6-10 ? (2.09m), which is tied for the second-best performance in school history. The Dayton native also recorded a sixth-place showing the long jump with a leap of 22-2 ? (6.77m).

Senior Eric Miller, meanwhile, finished third among collegians in the 800 meters with a 1:58.08 clocking and sophomore Teddy Williams, six days removed from setting the Southland Conference's 60 meters record, won his 200m heat in 22.55 to place fourth overall.

The Roadrunners netted 57.5 points on the day and finished behind Texas (108), Stephen F. Austin (65.2) and Rice (64).

UTSA is back in action next Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Blue & Orange Classic in Boise, Idaho.
