FRISCO ? UTSA sophomores Ezinne Okpo and Halee Hamm were selected to the Capital One Bank/Southland Conference All-Academic team, the league office announced on Monday.
Okpo, who was named second-team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VI on Nov. 1, posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average en route to her first-team all-academic nod. The Denton native earned first-team All-SLC honors last month after helping lead the UTSA defense to a school-record seven shutouts this past season.
Hamm, who garnered second-team accolades, picked up her first academic award after recording a 3.61 GPA in business. The Midland native started all 20 matches and was named SLC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 2. She helped guide the Roadrunners to a school-record nine wins in 2007.
