Freshman Whitney York was named to the Tulane Doubletree Classic all-tournament team.

NEW ORLEANS, La. ? The UTSA women’s basketball team dropped its fourth game in a row with a 76-42 loss against Tulane in the consolation game of the Tulane Doubletree Classic on Friday night.

Freshman guard Amber Gregg led the Roadrunners (6-4) with 11 points, while freshman guard Whitney York, who was named to the all-tournament team, added 10. Freshman guard Jordan Stark tied her career-high with four steals and also grabbed a team-best six rebounds, while junior guard Monica Gibbs dished out a half dozen assists.

Tulane's Ashley Langford tied Gregg for game-high honors with 11 points, while Brittany Lindsey and Sasha Staidum added 10 each.

UTSA took its only lead of the game (5-4) on York’s pair of free throws with 16:45 to go in the first half. Tulane (8-3) regained the advantage when Chassity Brown nailed a 3-pointer at the 15-minute mark and the Green Wave did not trail the rest of the night. After Tulane increased its lead to 14 with 8:13 left in the frame, the Roadrunners cut the deficit to 24-16 with an 8-2 spurt, as Gregg scored all eight points. Tulane pushed its lead back to double digits when Alendra Brown was good on a breakaway layup to close out the half.

Senior guard Terrie Davis opened the second frame with a 3-pointer that pulled UTSA within 10, but the Green Wave scored the next 10 points to extend the lead to 45-25. A jumper by York with 11:31 remaining ended an eight-minute scoreless drought by the Roadrunners, but Tulane closed out the game on a 27-12 run to wrap up the 34-point victory.

UTSA returns to San Antonio for the Wells Fargo/UTSA New Year’s Classic on Dec. 29-30 at the Convocation Center.
