Dillon's two goals help UTSA get past Lamar on Friday night

SAN ANTONIO ? FreshmanAlli Dillon netted a pair of goals to lead the UTSA soccer team to a2-0 win against Southland Conference foe Lamar Friday night at the UTSARecreational Soccer Complex. The Roadrunners extended their unbeatensteak to six matches and the win keeps them in the hunt for its first-everSLC regular season title in just their second season of play.

UTSA (8-7-2, 6-1-1 SLC) grabbed a 1-0 lead when Dillon received passes from sophomores Kari Weiland and Veronica Najera and beat Kelsie Binetti with 29 minutes left in the first half.

The Roadrunners upped their lead 2-0 on Dillon’s second winner on thenight at the 41-minute mark. Sophomore Celeste Carruth wascredited with the assist.

UTSA out shot Lamar (0-17, 0-7 SLC) 30-8 on the night. Freshman AllisonMcCabe and Kasi Hebert combined for the shutout and made four savesbetween them. Dillon and Najera recorded a match-high six shots each, whilesophomore Jenny Munoz totaled four on the night.

Binetti posted a match-best 17 saves, including 10 in the firstframe, and Stefani Turner led the Lady Cardinals with four shots.

UTSA ends its regular season on Sunday afternoon against McNeese Stateat the UTSA Recreational Sports Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
