SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s and women’s basketball teams are off to great starts this season. The women are 5-0, their best start since the 1996-97 campaign, while the men’s only loss so far this season is against nationally-ranked Texas.

Women’s basketball freshmen guard Whitney York made school history last week by earning her second consecutive Southland Conference Player of the Week honor. It’s the first time a Roadrunner has won the weekly award in back-to-back weeks. Meanwhile, the men are coming off a huge win against Navy at the Alamodome and are scheduled to play three home games this week.
