FRISCO ? Freshman guard Whitney York collected her second consecutive Southland Conference Player of the Week honor, the league office announced on Tuesday. York is the first Roadrunner to win the weekly award in back-to-back weeks in school history.
The Bryan native scored a career-high 22 points and tallied five steals in the 68-60 win against Wichita State on Sunday. She was 8-of-11 from the floor and 6-of-10 from the free throw line.
York is averaging 16.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in addition to shooting 57.7 5 from the field (15-26) in three games this season.
