SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA women’s golf team heads to the 34th annual Hawkeye Invitational this weekend in Iowa City, Iowa. The two-day event will be played at the Finkbine Golf Course (6,202 yards/par-72) and begins Saturday morning with 36 holes and concludes the following day with the final 18 holes.
The Roadrunners turned in a final-round 322 last Sunday to finish in sixth place at last weekend's Yale Intercollegiate.
Freshman Janine Fellows carded a 82-78=160 to finish tied for 18th after starting the day in 34th place. Sophomore Shelly Martinez ended her day tied for 23rd after shooting a 75-86=161. Meanwhile, junior Laura Baker finished five strokes behind Fellows with a two-day total 165 and was tied for 37th. Freshman Summer Batiste posted an 88-80=168 in her first collegiate tournament and sophomore Madison McClain finished in 75th place.
