SAN ANTONIO ? Members of the UTSA men’s basketball team and Rowdy the Roadrunner paid a visit to the North Central Baptist Hospital Children’s Unit on Tuesday afternoon.

The players spent an hour with several kids in the unit, handing out basketball jerseys and media guides to the children and hospital staff. As part of UTSA Athletics’ Community Service program, the visit was arranged with the help of Amanda Russell, an accountant with the athletics department.

“Anytime you can give back to the community, it’s a good thing,” freshman guard Cody Dotson-Lara, a San Antonio Madison High School graduate, said. “We were really looking forward to doing this for the kids and it’s great to see all the smiles on their faces.”

You may catch segments on the hospital visit tonight on KENS (CBS 5) during the 6 p.m. telecast and KABB (FOX 29) during the 9 p.m. telecast.
