KERRVILLE ? The UTSA “B” men’s golf team turned in a pair of 291s on Monday afternoon at the Comanche Trace Golf Course, which was good enough for a sixth place showing at the UTSA Intercollegiate.
Sophomore Emiliano Martinez is tied for fifth place after posting a four-under-par (71-69=140) in the first two rounds. Meanwwhile, senior Nick Olivarri shot a 76 in the first round and rebounded with a 69 in the second to finish tied for 16th. Sophomore Phillip Hui fired a 71-76=147 and is tied for 25th place and senior Philipp Krohn shot a day-one total of 150 and is tied for 41st.
Meanwhile, UTSA “A” squad tallied a team total 586 (302-284) and is in ninth place. Senior Shane Costelloe led the team with a 72-69=141 (-3) on the day and is tied for eighth. Senior Thomas Kearney is tied for 16th after shooting a one-over-par (72-73=145), while senior Sean Burch carded a 79-70=149 on the day. Junior Kyle Collins sits tied for 47th place with an 80-72=152. Also in action was sophomore Simon Merry, who is tied for 53rd.
Both teams return to action on Tuesday morning with the final round.
