SAN ANOTNIO ? The UTSA men’s golf team concludes its fall season as it hosts the UTSA Intercollegiate on Oct. 29-30 at the Comanche Trace Golf Course (7,103 yards/par-72) in Kerrville. The two-day event begins Monday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
The field is set with 14 teams competing, including seven teams that played in last year’s event. Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Boston College, Central Arkansas, McNeese State, Oklahoma Christian, St. John’s, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, SMU, Texas State, UTSA and Western Kentucky comprise the field.
The Roadrunners finished in fourth place a year ago after carding a 292-283-291=866. Meanwhile, Senior Thomas Kearney finished one stroke behind leaders Peter O’Keeffe from Southeastern Louisiana, Robert Gwin from Sam Houston State and Keegan Bradley from St. John’s in the individual standings. Kearney fired a three-round total 209 (-7) for the tournament.
