SAN ANTONIO ? Freshman Alli Dillon scored twice and added an assist to leadthe UTSA soccer team to a 3-0 win against SamHoustonState on Sunday afternoonat the UTSA Recreational Sports Complex.
Dillon put the Roadrunners (4-7-2, 2-1-1 SLC) up 1-0 with herfourth goal of the season at the 21-minute mark. Freshman Jenna Pawelek wascredited with the assist.
In second half action, UTSA upped its lead to 2-0 onDillon’s second winner of the match. Sophomore Veronica Najera then sealed the victorywith her team-leading sixth goal of the year.
Freshman goalkeeper Allison McCabe made four saves and postedher second shutout of the weekend.
Najera recorded a match-high seven shots, while Dillon andsophomore Kylee Hix had five shots apiece.
Jenny Pence totaled a match-best eight saves for SamHoustonState (2-8, 0-3 SLC).
UTSA returns to action next Sunday when it plays at I-35rival TexasState.
