FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ? Freshman Zach Legg finished 135th to lead the UTSA men’s cross country team to 27th place at the Chile Pepper Festival held Saturday morning at the Arkansas Cross Country Course.
Legg covered the 10,000-meter loop in a time of 33:29.8 to finish as the top Roadrunner for the first time this season. Fellow freshmen Brandon Chiuminetta and Dominick Zucconi finished 158th (33:59.8) and 159th (33:59.9), respectively. Freshmen Josh Bart and Raul Toscano rounded out the top five in 194th (35:21.2) and 201st (35:30.7).
In a loaded team field, the Roadrunners tallied 724 points for 27th. No. 9 Arkansas won the title with 47 points, followed by Abilene Christian (74) and Virginia Tech (162).
UTSA takes next week off in preparation for the Southland Conference Championships held on Saturday, Oct. 27, in Corpus Christi.
