UTSA men to compete at Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s cross country team returns from a one-week layoff to compete in the prestigious Chile Pepper Festival held Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark. The men’s 10k is set to begin at 9:45 a.m. at Arkansas Cross Country Course.

The Roadrunners are competing against a top-notch field on the site of the NCAA South Central Regional in November. Scheduled to run are Arkansas, Arkansas Alumni, Abilene Christian, Allen Community College, Arkansas State, Auburn, Austin Peay, Baylor, Cameron, Central Arkansas, Centenary, East Central, Hendrix, Houston, LSU, Nevada, Nebraska, Oral Roberts, Ouachita Baptist, Rend, Lake College, Rice, Richmond, Samford, SMU, Texas A&M?Corpus Christi, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas-Pan American, Texas Tech, Trinity, Vanderbilt, UMKC, UC Irvine, UT Arlington, UT-Tyler and Virginia Tech.

UTSA finished 28th at the Stanford Invitational in its last outing on Sept. 29. Freshman Brandon Chiuminetta led all Roadrunners with a 156th-place showing.
