FRISCO ? Sophomore Halee Hamm was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Hamm, who earned the honor for the first time in her career, was instrumental in the 3-1 win at Houston last Friday night. The Midland native tallied one assist and helped the Roadrunners defense hold the Cougars to one just goal on 18 shots. UTSA held Houston scoreless on just six shots in the second frame.
UTSA opens SLC play this weekend in Louisiana at Nicholls State on Oct. 5 and at Southeastern Louisiana two days later.
