NEWPORT, R.I. ? The UTSA men’s golf team shot a team total 302-302-301=905 and finished in fifth place on the final day of the 14th annual Adams Cup held at the Newport National Golf Course.
Senior Thomas Kearney led the Roadrunners with an 18th-place showing, while shooting a nine-over-par (75-75-75=225). Sophomore Simon Merry ended his day one stroke behind Kearney with a two-day total 226.
Meanwhile, senior Sean Burch finished tied for 25th after carding a 77-77-74=228, while senior Shane Costelloe turned in a 73-73-83=232 on the day and tied for 36th place. Also in action was junior Kyle Collins, who tied for 67th place.
UTSA returns to action on Oct. 15-16 at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate at the Oak Tree Golf Course in Edmond, Okla.
