NEWPORT, R.I. ? The UTSA men’s golf team carded a day-one total of 302-301=603 and are tied for third place at the 14th annual Adams Cup held at the Newport National Golf Course.
The Roadrunners were led by senior Shane Costelloe, who shot a five-over-par (76-73=149) and is tied for 11th, while senior Thomas Kearney fired a pair of 75s in the first two rounds and stands tied for 18th.
Sophomore Simon Merry ended his day tied for 21st with a seven-over-par (74-77=151), while senior Sean Burch is two strokes behind Merry with a 153. Also in action was junior Kyle Collins, who posted a 80-86=166.
UTSA concludes the final round of the Adams Cup on Wednesday.
