Men?s tennis to begin fall season in Waco

SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s tennis team opens its fall season this weekend when it heads to Waco for the seventh annual HEB Invitational held on the campus of Baylor.

Head coach Oliver Trittenwein, who begins his ninth season at UTSA, guided the Roadrunners to a runner-up finish at the 2007 Southland Conference Tournament a year ago. Last season, UTSA finished with a 12-12 overall record and 4-2 mark in SLC action.

UTSA returns five letterwinners this season, including sophomore Rodrigo Morgado, who collected 2007 SLC Freshman of the Year and first-team All-SLC honors. Morgado finished the year with a 14-6 overall singles record, including a 12-2 mark at the No. 2 position and he was a perfect 6-0 in SLC play at that spot.

Meanwhile, senior Adam Becker, who earned first-team All-SLC accolades at the No. 6 singles position, returns for his final season at UTSA. He ended the 2007 campaign with a 14-7 record, while going 8-3 at No. 6. Becker also collected first-team honors at No. 3 doubles.
