SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA men’s golf team opens its fall campaign this weekend in Bolton, Mass., at the Hawk Invitational. The 54-hole event will played at the The International Golf Course beginnning with 36-holes on Friday and 18-hole final round the following day.
Head coach Chris Donielson welcomes back nine returnees this season, including 2007 All-Southland Conference performers senior Thomas Kearney and junior Kyle Collins.
Kearney led the Roadrunners with a 72.89 stroke average last season. The Donegal, Ireland, native posted four top-10 finishes, including two top-five showings during the 2006-07 season. He ended the season with a seventh-place finish at the 2007 SLC Men’s Golf Championships.
Meanwhile, Collins ranked second on the squad with a 73.97 stroke average. He also posted four top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments and also placed 12th at the SLC Championships.
