FORT WORTH ? The UTSA women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker at TCU on Tuesday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium.
Jackie Torda scored the game winning goal with less than five minutes remaining in the match for the Horned Frogs, who even their record to 2-2 overall.
UTSA (1-3-1) had a couple of opportunities late in the match to tie, but sophomore Veronica Najera’s attempt was high at the 87-minute mark, then sophomore Kim Selman’s shot went wide as the game clock expired and TCU held on for the 1-0 win.
Sophomore Chelsea Zimmerman tallied a team-high three shots, including two on goal, while Najera recorded two. Sophomore goalkeeper Kasi Hebert, who made her first career start, collected a career-high 10 saves on the night.
Chelsea Cody totaled a match-high seven shots, while Torda posted five shots, including one goal. Lizzy Karoly had one assist.
UTSA concludes its four-match road swing this Friday night against No. 6 Texas at Myers Stadium in Austin.
