SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA All-American Ryanne Dupree will represent the United States at the USA vs. Germany Decathlon and Heptathlon Challenge scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 18-19, in Stuttgart, Germany.
Dupree earned a spot on the squad by virtue of her eighth-place finish in the heptathlon at the USA Outdoor Championships in June. The East Central High product tallied 5,582 points in her highest finish in three appearances at the national championships.
One of the most decorated athletes in school history, Dupree capped her collegiate career this past spring by picking up her fourth All-America certificate at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in early June. She scored 5,773 points to finish sixth in the heptathlon, her third career top-eight finish in the event. A three-time Southland Conference Athlete of the Year and a 10-time conference champion, Dupree posted a career-best and school-record 5,818 points at the Texas Relays in April.
This marks Dupreeās third straight trip across the pond to compete for Team USA as she has participated in the USA vs. Russia Heptathlon Challenge each of the past two years in Holland.
